This was a study of a Marsh Wren balanced on a water rush stem. I was lucky enough to be able to use a Photography reference from one of the wonderful photographers, Dave Slaughter, who post to Wetcanvas, allowing artists to use their photographs for our artworks. Thank You so much.
Please click on to see more detail, although there is much finer in the original, individual feathers and their filaments were each painted with a size -00000 brush with watercolour Paint. Total creation time in excess of 50hrs.
