Bluebell Woods and Holidays

The May Day Bank Holiday weekend saw the usual holiday events here on the Island. Vintage car rallies and Vintage Motorbike shows, both of which I had intended to attend and take some photographs, neither of which happened.

Poppy has been very ill with a new set of problems, and has needed to be watched over very carefully, hopefully she has now turned a corner, and will start to improve. We will book the doggy chiropractor to have another look at her back and legs again, as prolonged bed rest has seemed to aggravated those older problems again, but we are optomistic.

Mark did a massive amount of gardening at the farm alotment patch, and in our own front garden, so I could plant some summer bulbs, that had been waiting to see some soil.

Now I am Older....

I shall Spread my wings, Stay up late,

Global Warming, Can we make a Difference?

I'd say Yes, I'm trying to turn off lights as I leave a room, and fitting energy bulbs. Recycling, re using, or adapting saves you money too. Getting out of the shower 2 minutes earlier than you would have normally, if you are one of those long shower types, saves enough water to fill a swimming pool over the course of a year.
Walking, biking short distances in safe areas, if you are able, gets you fit and saves petrol and cash.
Buying fresh food instead of frozen is good for you and saves energy, or grow some fresh, even herbs in a window box are delicious. Encourage young ones from an early age, not to waste paper, photocopy, print or use both sides of paper whenever you can. Don't buy more food than you can use, till your next shopping trip, surplus will probably get thrown away anyway, unless you are very disciplined.
I'm really not preaching, because I know I have a lot more to do myself, and I can't think that doing any of the above will not enrich some areas of our own lives, or help our cash flow. I just can't bear to see our beautiful worlds plants, animals and habitats so destroyed, needlessly, when just a few small changes could make a difference.
And if you can; plant a tree, the planet needs its lungs, and so do we.

I myself didn't realise bunnies lived so long, and I am encouraged that I may own one one day because of it, but to some 'would be' bunny purchasers, that will be a shock and probably a responsibilty they wouldn't feel up to undertaking, and therefore shouldn't.

Pup & Cupcake.

This is a small Pastel I've just completed today for our YBA Group leader who has had to take a well deserved rest through ill health,. She has been one of the most endearing and giving people I have been fortunate to know through the art groups, It was the groups (desiree) idea, to send well wishes in the form of art pieces(aceos) , this is a little larger because it was easier for my eyesight.

BUT, I had an empty folder waiting to be filled in No 6, so I'm going for Sevens,and six, 776. My Seventh Folder was Fairies, and the seventh image was 'Katy & Puss', which I'm selling premounted prints of on Etsy.
"Katy and Puss are the Best of Friends. Katy reads the stories and Puss likes to point to the Pretty Pictures". I really enjoyed painting this little watercolour, and looking at it again I think perhaps Katy and Puss should have a few adventures.
