No3 WIP Alice's Characters; Unicorn's mane

I made the mane from 2 pieces of fine white cotton material from which I removed the cross threads, making two fringes of different lengths. I then cut back the material to leave each fringe with a remaining 3mm piece of weave, which I laid and glued each strip into place along the forelock and crest line. Then modelled paper clay on top to hide all joins, so as the mane looked as if it naturally grew from the neck, I added a few golden threads in later, and did a similar process with the eyelashes except on a much smaller scale.

Don't forget the 2nd annual ADO Event sign up is the 1st June, Blog link in the lists down on the left.

Linda, thankyou so much for your comments on my blog - I really appreciate your knowledge and advice :)
And I am in love with your latest sculptures, ( though I think my all time favourite was the crow - I would have loved to have him!)
