Gyspymare Studio's, 'White Winter Hymnal' Etsy Treasury

'White Winter Hymnal' is Jen's wonderful visual treat of a Treasury, that gives you that special silent feel of deeply fallen snow, edged with a touch of Magic.

To be included in a Etsy Treasury, is a gift to the participating artists by the creator of the treasury, as the curator never stars in their own treasury, so its a very unselfish act.
Thank you for including my Wolf , Jen.

Alternate Paths, or Imaginings

Hi I been tagged, by fellow artist
http://swhiteartonebay.blogspot.com/
So I’ve decided to list these seven previously untold, .Alternate Paths, or Imaginings.
I have some scraps of memory very clear visually, but I haven’t a clue where they are from, these are the first three listed...
One is my riding under some low fir trees. Its Autumn/Winter, I can smell the pine scent, and the horses body, I think I’m side-saddle, but not sure, and I’m wearing long fine leather gloves a soft hat, speared with some clip at the side which I’m worried about losing, as I keep checking it.
The second is its definitely Winter, I’m cold, Stamping my feet which are in leather buttoned boots with extend above the ankle with a small heel. I’m wearing a dark subdued heavy weight burgundy velvet jacket, and floor length skirt, I don't seem to have a coat, I’m waiting for a coach. I have a small bag or luggage of some kind.
The third, I’m a child 5/6yrs its very hot its summer, I’m skipping along as children do. there are roses down the side of the drive. I think a man ,maybe my father , is under the car working on something. Its an american looking car maybe 1940-50’s
The next four, are just some of the lives I would have liked to have lived. (I have a big List)
Became a notorious, and hopefully uncaptured lady highwayman. As in The Wicked Lady (1945) starring Margaret Lockwood. (In actual fact I would have probably been an notorious horse thief and got myself hanged at the crossroads!)
Lived the life of a Cowgirl, just horses, and my trusted dog. (which probably equates to slept in the barn like a hobo)
Taken to an ‘Indiana Jones’ style life of adventure, treasure hunts, following clues through history, cracking the codes, fending off the evil villains and of course getting the treasure. (Been a terrible geek, and just visited lots of museums; which I already do & enjoy)
High Seas adventure as a villainous and ruthless Pirate Privateer, the scourge of The Spanish Maine.
(Who knows perhaps I could have managed that one!)

Thats it!, hope you enjoyed those I’m not tagging anyone else this time, as most people I know blogwise, have all been tagged recently.

Seven Not widely Known Facts

I pinched the text from Danielle text because she has explained it sowell, and I know she wont mind.
So, Heres goes, I will play the 'tagging game', as I have never done it before. I don't usually do the 'pass it on' stuff, but this seems harmless, and kind of interesting to read ! I was tagged by
http://daniellebarlowart.blogspot.com/
I gather that what I have to do is tell you 7 interesting (and little known) facts about myself, and tag 7 other bloggers.

1. I also have Romany gypsy in my ancient ancestory, way back on my maternal grandmother’s side all her family the ‘Harwoods’ were dark and raven haired. My Grandmother had green eyes and kept her jet black hair(no Grey) into her late 80’s, when she passed on.
2. I often dream about things that haven’t happened yet, or of people when they are ill, not always nice.
3. In my school days, when I stayed for school dinners(that were awful) I would swap my dinner for someone elses pudding/desert, and then go around again for seconds of pudding. No I was healthy and really skinny. One or twice in the year we had an awful cocoa pops chocolate covered puffed wheat slice with mint custard, I hated it. All the other kids loved it.
4. I won an award at school for the best results for the student in my year. I chose a book for my gift award, on ponies and showing, by Glenda Spooner, it was a great treat, as I love reading.
5. I still have my teddy from when I was 1year old, I went to pick him up the other day by his ear,(He doesnt Mind) I realised his ear was worn, I must have always done that since a child. He has a little lamb friend, I can remember chosing for my Christmas present, when I was a toddler, I was lifted up to see him on the top shelf of the toy shop. They are kept together, and I worry what will happen to them when I die.
6. I painted a leather biker jacket for one of my nephews, with a hellhound snarling out of a flaming circle, his choice. I think it was maybe an Iron maiden album cover. He was constantly being stopped in the streets by bikers wanted to know where he got it painted.
7. I used to think I came from outer space as a small child, I would lie awake in bed and ask them to come and take me home, as I didnt like it here.....

Well, there you have it! 7 rather random facts about me!
I now tag 4, a bit short I'm afraid, but there you go..

http://pamtanzeyartist.blogspot.com/,
http://shutterstarphoto.blogspot.com/,
http://kingofmicestudios.blogs pot.com/, http://sueskitchen.typepad.com/black_eyed_susans_kitchen/
and the rules say I now must let them know what I have done.

Whoa Sketchbook to Sale for Horse Charity

Jennifer MacNeill-Traylor is a member of a juried group of Ebay horse artists who started the Whoa Charity Sketchbook project earlier this year. Back in April, she asked for members to sign up and take turns to add original equine art to an 80 page blank book. She had members add work from here in Great Britian, to all over the States. Each artist was given up to 5 pages to sketch whatever they chose. Also click HERE to see the sketchbook blog. Pictures of all new art is added by Jen, to the site as soon as it is completed. Hopes are bouyant to have the book finished and on Ebay for sale around Christmas time.
Jen herself produces wonderful, rich artworks ,http://gypsymare.blogspot.com/and plaques with a Halloween ,fantasy twist, she also does a great line in Vanners.
Danielle http://daniellebarlowart.blogspot.com/The other UK artist on the project, is also an extremely talented artist with horse, fantasy, dartmoor, and crows amongst her varied pallette.
As Danielle states in her blog entry; "We are also looking into the possibility of having the sketchbook printed, so we can sell copies of it, although the costs are looking a little prohibitive at the moment. Any suggestions here are welcome"!

Season of Mists & Mellow Fruitfulness

I’ve spent a strange day today, I feel I haven’t accomplished much, which I know is nonsense, because I have; but when there is so much to do it always seems such a drop in the ocean.
I extricated my self from the computer made a cup of earl grey tea, and stood looking into the garden through reflectively sips. Its one of those glorious bright autumn days, chilly with beautiful sunshine. The summer geraniums are still soldiering on, happily ‘cocking a snoop’ at the winter chills, and tiny cyclamens are blooming in shady spots, sheltered against the tree and near the house. Winter is definitely on its way, but so far we have had no frost. Autumn promises to give us another taste of US New England tree colours after another unseasonable wet summer, good recompense I feel, as I am always so envious of the beautiful fall colours in the States.
I apologise to friends I should have written to, I hope you have come here and see I am still around, and thinking of you, and regrets to the art I should have made... but its been a strange day.

Autumn Term.

An Update on my mare, after the scare, see older posts; as you can see she is still happily pottering around, and enjoying herself fingers crossed.

The young children of the nearby small school and playschool were enchanted last year when I managed to find suitable rugs for her, in their school colours, she sported mauve gingham checks that matched their summer wear, and mauve warmer versions to match their winter sweatshirts, which they have found highly amusing. Because of her age many children have grown up always seeing her on place, quite a feat, and she is a well known celebrity, who is happy to stop and be petted by the tiniest of fans.

Collectors as well as Artists will be able to vote, on selections from the art show entries, all work will be anonymous, the only criterias are listed in YBA info.
For Collectors, there will be many of your favourite Artists work too. This event has been well supported with over 800 enties, with many unusual categories too, which will make for interesting viewing, I cant wait to see them all.
Almost forgot 'White Rabbit', why you have to say it on the first of the month, I dont Know!

Woodcarvings

These photographs were taken by my partner Mark, these were some amazing wood carvings we saw on our travels round the Island today. The Hare and the Magpies were in Arreton, carved into a cut down tree stump.
The second The Koi, was in Godshill a small part of the car park was given to a little peaceful place to sit and contemplate and was in rememberance of Matthew, a young man who passed away, and was commissioned by his family. A beautiful tribute.
These are great photographs of amazing art with heart, and given that Mark only had the camera passed to him, and not years of slog and hard experience, they were far too good so he had to be punished, hence the stocks.

Geese, Hissing Sid

Heres a Lovely picture of the small flock of geese kept at the farm where I stable my horse. They actually look very peaceful in this picture, quite opposite to how they usually react to me. When I empty my wheelbarrow, the gander usually takes this as his signal to creep up behind me and attack; In the winter with wet ground I'm usually alerted in time, as I hear the flapping of his feet in the final run down to peck me in the breeches!. Still they do look very calm here. They all have very nice names, but all I can think of as far as the ganders concerned is 'Hissing Sid'.
