Changes in Life

Sorry about my lack of blogging lately.

Since the demise of my beloved mare last August, I can honestly say I still really do miss her, and also just not having a horse in my life, is weird. I rented fields, so at the moment its tenuous, as I do not feel entirely secure in pursuing another equine, with a long term secured environment future, but I am still looking. My heart attack last year put a real damper on things in general, dying really does make you feel very mortal, and as I'm an Eeyore in life's Winnie the Pooh's adventures, it did nothing to lighten the mood!!, So when I found I was wheat intolerant, which sucks if your'e already a vegetarian(I do eat fish, eggs) it pulled another sigh from the Eeyore in me, being told I was probably Fibromyalgic as well, another blast. It explained a few things, it is not life threatening although can be painful, and you just have to pace yourself, whoopee... that was sarcasm. But the Good News is I'm finally getting the lounge done at last. It had a lot of problems, so we had to go back to the bare walls and replaster, and a miriad of other different other jobs to boot, its still work in progress and while its going on, we are sharing a bar stool and an office chair between us, with Prince's bed in the tiny kitchen. Theres no access to my art supplies except for a jar full of brushes I kept out, with a few watercolours, which was fortunate as The Aceo group on Ebay are in the process of completing another playing card set, which I got in on again, the Jack of Diamonds was my card. He ended up as a Jack Rabbit as you can see. Mark is in workman mode, so I had to take a picture, he was so engrossed he didn't even notice.

Oh Linda, I am so sorry things are going so badly for you still. Over the years I have lost several beloved animals but losing my border collie Coco many years past broke my heart, I think of him often still he was my best friend and faithful companion wherever I went always at my side.
I always rode horses for other people and dearly would have loved one.
One nice thing we don't have any building work in progress in this old house right now what a relief, as it is very ongoing lol.

I am so sorry to read all this sad news. Perhaps the springtime, your adorable pup and the home improvements will cheer you up! Sending postive thoughts & energy to you!

TY, Jackie & Jen, I don't really feel too down, I can work with most things. I just feel a bit lost and adrift at the moment and naggingly worried I will never have another horse to enjoy again in that way.
Even daft things all mount up, printers not working, just More straws. :) I'll bounce back..Lindax

Oh Linda, I do know the pain and ache of losing a loved companion and totally understand what you are feeling. I still have a deep, empty hole in my heart and although life does go on and others arrive to help fill the void, the empty feeling still remains with me.
I had no idea you had a heart attack last year! I am so sorry, I wish I had known.
The thoughts of death and mortality seem to be more to the surface as we get older. JoAnn's death really hit me hard, she was only 9 years older than I. I keep thinking "is this all there is?"
Fibromyalgia. Know it well. Unfortunately all the meds have awful side effects and I refuse to spend the rest of my life drugged and in a fog.
Love your Jack Rabbit! You do such gorgeous work! I absolutely treasure the pieces I have of yours. I have to admit tho that a certain black cat with white points holds a very special place in my heart.
Here's to hoping that we both have a better year. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Linda, so sad for you. I know its bad enough with the medical issues but when you lose you equine companion it just makes matter much, much worse. Keep your chin up and as soon as you have all your home improvements done you may feel a bit more like your old self. You will have another horse to love, I just know it. I mean even the captcha says "rearing!" :-)

Yes, you have had your fair share of meds, its strange how some of the side effects are exactly mimicking symptoms its trying to cure, makes no sense.
JoAnn's passing was a shock, she was such an allround wonderful soul too.
Crystal I had to look up what captcha was, so I've at least one new thing today.:)

I am afraid that this statement is not correct "moment its tenuous, as I do not feel entirely secure in pursuing another equine, with a long term secured environment future, but I am still looking.".
